Designer I.Rutkauskaitė-Naujokė: how the most luxurious wedding dresses are born

The wedding dress is one of the most ornate, admirable and mysterious garments. Most often, when one sees it, one is amazed at the pattern that suits the bride, the delicacy of the fabric, the pleats, the embroidery and the impression that one of the most important garments makes. But we don’t even think about how many hours it took to create a stunning garment and how it was made in the first place. Famous designer Ingrida Rutkauskaitė-Naujokė revealed how many small steps go into creating a wedding dress.o WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!

The first step is to draw the model. For a long time, she poured her ideas on paper, but now she uses virtual drawing programmes to help her.

“Creativity requires inspiration. Sometimes it is provoked by a visit to a museum, a book read, a travel experience. But occasionally, thoughts may arise while chatting with a friend, sipping tea or just tripping over a step in the street. I also transfer the ideas, like a collage, onto the page,” says Rutkauskaitė-Naujokė about the latest collection, which was created by the Lotus home team.

It is open – what is born on the page after the first creative impulse is corrected many times later.

“I draw and erase. I draw again and erase again. It’s all repetitive until I see a result that makes me happy,” says the designer.

The lace design is also being developed, layers and patterns planned.
